Beekeeping Class Feb 2019

The Brown County Beekeeping Association is happy to present INTRODUCTION TO BEEKEEPING.  Learn the essentials of beginning beekeeping !!

When: February 23th, 2018 — 8:00am to 4:00pm
Where: Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Great Lakes Energy Education Center (see map below)

How Much: $55 for an individual, $45 for additional family members
Includes: Light snacks, refreshments and lunch
What: An understanding of:

  • Bee breeds and basic physiology
  • Bee development timeline and colony cycles
  • Hive types and basic beekeeping equipment
  • Hive location, purchasing bees and their installation
  • Bee diseases, parasites and how to treat them
  • Personal protection and annual hive maintenance

And hands-on experience with (not with live bees!):

  • Hive assembly
  • Mite check
  • Package and nuc installation

Intro to Beekeeping ClassSpace is limited.
Registrations received after Wednesday Feb 20, 2019 may not be accepted.
Refunds allowed if notification received prior to Saturday February 16, 2019.

Directions: Take Country Club Road off of West Mason (heading north).   Turn right onto Larsen and then take a left before getting to the main entrance. The Great Lakes Energy Education Center and parking lot G will be on your left.   Come through side doors and the meeting will be upstairs.

Here is a map of the NWTC Campus. On the map find the building identified as EE. That is the Great Lakes Energy Education Center.
